A bespoke radiator is not something that sits in a warehouse waiting for you. It is built to your colour, your size and your configuration, and that build takes time. The good news is that the time involved is predictable, and if you plan around it now you get exactly what you want without a single cold weekend.

How Long Do Made-to-Order Radiators Actually Take?
Our bespoke column radiators take approximately four weeks to manufacture. That is not a padded estimate or a worst case scenario. It is the genuine production window for a radiator made to your specification at our manufacturing facility near Venice.
Two periods in the year run longer than that: August, when much of Italian manufacturing takes its traditional summer shutdown, and the Christmas and New Year period. If your order lands in either window, add breathing room.

Why Four Weeks? What Is Happening in That Time
It is a fair question, particularly when a stock radiator can be on your driveway inside a week. The difference is that nothing about your radiator exists until you order it.
Your radiator is built to size, not cut down
Column radiators are assembled section by section. The number of sections determines the width and the heat output, so the frame is welded to your specific requirement using robotic laser welding rather than pulled off a shelf and modified.
The colour is applied, not sprayed on afterwards
Once welded, the steel goes into a specialist painting facility for powder coating. This is what gives a bespoke finish its durability, and it is also why the colour cannot be changed once production starts. A textured matt cream, a hammered copper and a deep dark blue are three separate production runs, not three cans of paint.
It then has to travel from Italy
Manufacturing time is manufacturing time. Transport to the UK and onward delivery to you sits on top of it. Build the delivery leg into your plan rather than assuming week four is the day it arrives.
The 24-hour rule you need to know before you order
Because these products are made to order, there is a 24-hour window in which to cancel before the radiator goes into production. After that point it is non-returnable and non-refundable. It is not a catch, it is simply what "made for you" means: nobody else can buy a 1500mm hammered copper three column radiator sized to your alcove. Measure carefully, and use that first day to double-check.
What a Bespoke Order Buys You
If you only need heat, a stock radiator will heat. People choose made-to-order for the things stock cannot do.
Colour that matches the room
Dark blues, greys, creams, chocolate browns and bare lacquered metal, rather than making white work.
Finishes you cannot buy off the shelf
Textured matt finishes and hammered metallics that read as furniture, not plumbing.
Sizes that fit awkward spaces
Under a low window, into a narrow alcove, or tall and slim where wall space is tight.
The heat output side matters just as much. Column radiators are available from two up to six columns, and adding columns adds output without adding width. That is how you get enough warmth into a room that has almost no usable wall left. Your Order-Now Timeline for This Winter
Work backwards from the first properly cold week rather than forwards from today.
- Measure the space now. Height, width and, critically, the distance from the wall to any furniture. Note where your existing pipework comes out, floor or wall, because that decides your valve type.
- Confirm the heat output you need. Do this before choosing a colour. A beautiful radiator that undersizes the room is a four-week mistake.
- Choose colour and configuration. Order swatch advice or call the team if you are matching an existing scheme. This is the step worth slowing down on.
- Place the order roughly six weeks before you need it. Four weeks of manufacture, plus delivery, plus a sensible buffer.
- Book your installer for after the delivery date, not before. Installers get booked solid from October onwards, so get the date in the diary early.
- Order valves and accessories at the same time. Nothing is more frustrating than a radiator on the wall and no way to connect it.
Do not forget the parts that finish the job
A bespoke radiator deserves the right connections. Thermostatic radiator valves let you control each room independently, which pays for itself over a winter. Choose angled valves for pipes coming out of the floor and corner valves for pipes coming out of the wall. For wide horizontal models, welded feet in a matching colour are worth specifying at the point of order, since they cannot be added later.
